Vernier

What are the parts of a vernier caliper? - Wonkee Donkee Tools
What is a Vernier?
There are different types of Vernier tool in the world but we're learning about a particular one, the Metric Vernier. This type of Vernier gives measurements from 0.1mm up to centimetres. IT can measure objects to their accurite measurements unlike a ruler. It is used to accurately measure the internal and external diametres of an object.

How to use a Vernier:
First: Measure the object.
Second: Look at the main scale and see where it goes.
Third: Look at the vernier scale and see where the 0 of the vernier goes.
now it would be the main scale's number plus, the 0 of the vernier scale.
Fourth: Look wherever which line lines up the most accurately on the vernier scale and the main scale.
At the end you now have. Main scale number and wherever the 0 from the vernier scale is and the the which line lines up from the vernier scale and the main scale.

Introduction to Lathe

What is a Lathe?
There are two types of Lathes. A Lathe that is made for wood carving and metal machining. Today, we are learning the metal type of Lathe. Also known as a metalworking Lathe, it's a powerfull tool that can shape a metal rod to its command. It's a machine tool that can help enginers or artist to shape their workpiece.

The Centre Lathe

What does facing off and turning down mean?
Facing off means removing a piece of the material to make smooth and flat
Turning down means to reduce the diameter of the material.
