Everyone can learn Math

Not everyone is born good at math but you can get yourself to be a good math,
By doing
- Practice
- Always do hard questions
- Train your brain

For the past few weeks we have been learning that you don't need to be fast at math you can be slow and deep. We also learnt that, you can think of differents ways to answer a question. What I enjoyed about math is how its training my brain, and I really like the hard questions so I can find a lot of ways to get to the answer.

Learning About Hauora

A Whare Tapa Wha is about all dimensions of Hauora which is Social,Mental,Emotional, physical and
spiritual. Today in health we were asked to make a house with all 4 dimensions of each side.
This is useful to know because all the dimensions relate to your everyday life and everything you do.
As a team I think we did great making the house because there was 4 of us two were writing and the other two were making the house also everyone worked together.
We also did great with our communicating because we work great as a team.
My favourite quote is “Life's hard but never give up”.

Experimenting, Heights.

Equipment:
Metre Ruler and Table tennis.

Aim: Our aim is how far the ball bounces back in different heights.

Hypothesis: Will the ball bounce higher if you let it go on a higher height or will the ball bounce lower?

Method:
1. Set a metre ruler, from the bottom to the top.
2. Drop the ball from a certain height, near the ruler.
3. Measure it, and record it.
4. Test the same height three times, to get the correct height.

 Heights 1 2  3 Average
 2m21 cm20 cm21 cm 20.6 cm
 1m 18 cm 17 cm 19 cm 18 cm
 0.5m 8 cm 9 cm 9 cm 8.6 cm
 1.5m20  cm 19 cm20  cm 19. 6 cm

Discussion: I believe that if you drop it in a high height it bounce more, this table goes up when it gets a higher number or height.

Conclusion: The higher you drop the ball the higher it bounce up. My hypothesis was correct.

"Hiawatha and The Peacemaker" - English -

"Hiawatha And The Peacemaker"
- Words By, Robbie Robertson
- Pictures By, David Shannon

This book is all about how the Peacemaker and Hiawatha brought peace throughout the nations.
It started as Hiawatha desire for revenge for killing his family and his tribe. The man who had destroyed everything was named Tadodaho, but the peacemaker came and filled his heart with hope and peace. They traveled together to unify all the lands. As soon as they got almost all of the 4 nations, they came to the Tadodaho O's tribe to finally unify all of the lands. They arrived, they finally saw the man named Tadodaho. Tadodaho was a horrifying sigh, sickness from his evil within had taken over his body. Scales covered much of his skin, and snakes slithered through his hair and onto his shoulders. After seeing Tadodaho, Hiawatha's seek for revenge was back again. As a fight beginning, someone was singing, it was the Peacemaker, he was standing in front of the sun and moon. A hope began to Hiawatha's heart and he gave Tadodaho a potion for his sickness. Why could Hiawatha make a potion for someone who killed his family?

This week we experimented about excavating with pestle and nails. Last 2 days we mixed plaster of paris with water in cups and after that we put a small dinosaur toy inside.  We waited for 2 days for it to dry, some failed and most of them succeeded. After that we excavated it with pestle and nails. Then we found some fossils inside of them "Small Toy Dinosaurs.".

Some Pictures from the experiment.

EOTC WEEK "Reflecting"

Last week we did an outdoor activities for four days! Our first outdoor activities was postponed and moved to the next week, Second day we went to a Marae, third day we went to Omaka scamp and did our second day activity, and at the fourth day we went to Adrenaline forest and Spencer park.

Our first outdoor activity was postponed so it got changed to next week. After that we went to a Marae, the normal welcomers was out so they asked there neighbours, and I was amazed that their neighbours could talk in Maori as well. After we did a powhiri, we went to a Museum, I learnt so many things about Maori history and their cultures.

At our third day, we went to Omaka scamp, we were supposed to go there at Monday but it was cancelled because of the weather. The second day activity started and I learnt so many things like new games, water safety, and a challenges.

At out fourth day, we went to Adrenaline forest, I found it the hardest trip because you need to overcome your fear of heights. I was scared but others encourage me to do it, at the end I finished 5 levels of the activity.

Overall I had a lot of fun and I enjoyed most of it. I hope we get to do it next year also. Last thing I want to say is, Thank you for the teachers for organising this week, and Thank you to Omaka, and Rehua Marae!
