Work from home - week 3 - (Fitness at home)

Fitness From Home

Answer the following questions:
  1. What is fitness? An action to stay physically fit.
  2. What does “being physically fit” actually mean? Being healthy and doing some physical activities.
  3. What do you do for fitness activities (before and during lockdown)?
Before - Playing football/volleyball/basketball with my neighbours.
After - Playing basketball everyday with my family.

As outlined on the site, explain what each of the different components of physical fitness mean (you can/will maybe need to use google to help):
  • Body Composition - To describe the percentage of fat,bone,water, and muscle inside human bodies.
  • Endurance - Having the energy to go longer.
  • Flexibility - The ability to move your joints freely.
  • Strength - The ability to put against resistance.
  • Speed - To move fast.

Explain what the following 5 components of motor fitness mean:
  • Agility - Controlling your body in a controlled state.
  • Balance - Stabilizing your body.
  • Coordination - Having the ability to coordinate your muscles.
  • Power - Having muscles contract strongly to give explosive movements.
  • Reaction time - How fast can you react?

For Illinois agility test I wen to my friend's house to borrow cones and after that we went to the park. We ran 5 laps around the park for a warm up. Each of us challenged each other to whoever gets the fastest time. I exceeded at the end.

Standing tork test - I went to ask my youngest brotherto help me. It took a while to get him to do what I asked but in the end I managed to do the test.

NCF Abdominal contioning test - I did this test at the same us the stork test. I had my brother to help me again.

30 metre sprint - It was the next day, me and my mum went for a walk and I decided to do it that time. I gathered barks to make marks of each end of the track. After i've done my test my mum decided to do it aswell.

Work from home - Week 2 - (Introducing Dystopian Literature)

What is dystopia?
Dystopian meaning a community or society that is in danger because its place is destroyed or its people/leader are causing a havoc.

Expanding my Vocabulary
Jovial - Being in a state of happiness and cheerfulness
Profusely - In great amounts
Paraphernalia - Equipments that is used in a particular activity
Interminably - Impossible to get rid of
Petulantly - Meaning forward or insolent

"The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson
Questions
1. Describe the setting, using specific details from the story in your answer. 
- Its a small town in the middle of vast lands.

2. Explain the feelings of most people in town toward the lottery. 
- Nervousness
- Worried
- Anxious
- Angry 

3. What evidence is there that the lottery has been going on for a long time?  
- The calling of children.
- Checking if everyone is present.
- It takes the whole town's to get ready for the event.

4. What is Old Man Warner’s attitude about those who would like to change  things?  
- He firce of why would other towns change the tradition.

5. Explain how the lottery works. 
- Each person had to pick a slip from the box.
- Then, the family with the specific slip will have to be in a gamble.
- One of their family will get a black dot in the middle of their slip.
- Lastly, they will get thrown by stones.


6. In what way is the title, “The Lottery”, misleading?  Why would the author  want to trick the reader by having a misleading title?

- The title was misleading because the word lottery usually means good.
- I think the reason behind this, is because to have a plotwist.

Indentifying an endangered animal.

Reige’s work
Animal: Amur Leopard
Physical characteristics: Muscular body, Yellow coloured fur with black spots, long tail, size = 40 - 75 in length.
Food: It preys on numerous types of deers, including Badgers and Hares.
Habitat: They live in the temperate forest of far Eastern Russia.
Predators: Human poaching and Siberean tigers.
How does it protect itself?
  • By hunting in different times of their predators.
  • They avoid massive fights by frequenting areas.
How could it be preserved?
  • Breeding events
  • Donation to wildlife parks that has them
  • Don’t go to a career that involves killing them.
Why is it endangered?
  • Their food supply is going down rapidly
  • Their pelts are sold a thousand for each
Why should it be preserved?

  • It is a shame to let a species die
  • The lack of predators will get the population of Deers and Hare will go skyrocketing in the area of Eastern Russia.
