Dinosaur Blog
This week we experimented about excavating with pestle and nails. Last 2 days we mixed plaster of paris with water in cups and after that we put a small dinosaur toy inside. We waited for 2 days for it to dry, some failed and most of them succeeded. After that we excavated it with pestle and nails. Then we found some fossils inside of them "Small Toy Dinosaurs.".

EOTC WEEK "Reflecting"
Last week we did an outdoor activities for four days! Our first outdoor activities was postponed and moved to the next week, Second day we went to a Marae, third day we went to Omaka scamp and did our second day activity, and at the fourth day we went to Adrenaline forest and Spencer park.
Our first outdoor activity was postponed so it got changed to next week. After that we went to a Marae, the normal welcomers was out so they asked there neighbours, and I was amazed that their neighbours could talk in Maori as well. After we did a powhiri, we went to a Museum, I learnt so many things about Maori history and their cultures.
At our third day, we went to Omaka scamp, we were supposed to go there at Monday but it was cancelled because of the weather. The second day activity started and I learnt so many things like new games, water safety, and a challenges.
At out fourth day, we went to Adrenaline forest, I found it the hardest trip because you need to overcome your fear of heights. I was scared but others encourage me to do it, at the end I finished 5 levels of the activity.
Overall I had a lot of fun and I enjoyed most of it. I hope we get to do it next year also. Last thing I want to say is, Thank you for the teachers for organising this week, and Thank you to Omaka, and Rehua Marae!

Summer Learning Journey "Reward Request"
Dear Emma,
I am Reige from Hornby High School.
If I win the"Summer Learning Journey" I would like to have a giant toy dinosaur, So i would give it to my baby brother and for me I would like to buy a football to practice with. If I loss, It's still ok because I might learn something new in the future and might get better at blogging by doing this.

Passion Project " The Preparation"
Today at passion project, we started to do our preparation, like what tricks we should teach the primary students. So far I learnt that every move you need to be careful or you might make an unacceptable mistakes! What I meant by that is, you need to make a script before talking to someone because you might mess up. This will help us by getting closer to our goal. We also been doing a letter to send to the school so they will let us borrow some of their students. Down below Is a slideshow of tips and tricks that we would teach them. Our next step will be sending the letter to the school and wait until they reply and after that if they allowed us, were going to send a google form for them to fill out.

Passion Project - "The Beginning"
This week the teachers introduce our passion projects. The teacher made us to go a group and explained what we had to do. First we got to go to a group of ten and my group wasn't working well so we split up. The in my group is Kailim, Aiden, TJ, Robbie, Callum, and Logan. After that we had to do a S.W.O.T analysis. S.W.O.T analysis is where u listed your strength, weakness, opportunities and threats. When that was done, we had to explain how we would solve the weakness and threats. We had to explain how we would encounter strength and opportunities.
Sport Tournament
Football skills for wonder kids
- We’re going to teach primary students skills and improve their skills.
- After we had done our training session we would have a tournament.

“Problem Solving”
- Get everyone attention .
Weakness Solutions
- Message each other on Social Media or Emails if your not coming.
- Remind them not to be late to school.
- If people aren't listening, tell them to listen or they are out of the group.
______________________________________________________________________
- Write a letter to the principal to ask permission for the students training.
Threat Solutions
- Talk to them about the work instead of talking about their weekends
- Only talk about the work not other things.
______________________________________________________________________
- If some primary students have like skills that we haven’t known, they could also teach us.
Opportunities
- Be really helpful to students so they would look up to you.
______________________________________________________________________
- Use our experience to teach the students.
Strengths
- We can use our skills to teach the students.
- Most of us are good at football.

Acrostic Poem
At the last of the day we got to have some fun. The fun I'm talking about is poems. This is my poem that I made.
Whining from the freezing wind.
Icicles falling down from the roof.
Numb fingers for everyone!
Toasting my bread in a cold day.
Eager eye, hunting for blazing heat.
Resting for the rest of the winter.
Rising from below the ground.
Eager eye, hunting for blood.
Dazzling sun, shining bright.

DLO "Probability to Fractions"
If we have three colours and the colours are red, blue and green. what is the probability of me getting red?
- Three colours - 3
- One red - 1
First of all we need to work out how many possible outcomes there will be.
There's 3 possible outcomes, red, blue and green. So the most probability of me getting red is 1/3 because there's 2 more possible outcomes and I only wanted the red one which is only one out of the three colours.

DLO "Probability"
Walt: Before the probability of an event can be worked out, all of the possible outcomes needed to be known.
Example: Kasha went to dinner with her family
- She had to choose a main course and a dessert.
- Main -
Example: Kasha went to dinner with her family

- Main -
- Spicy Chicken (S)
- Beef burger (B)
- Vegetarian (V)
- Desserts -
- Ice cream Sundae (I)
- Apple crumble (A)
Now I just need to figure out the possibilities, I organize them in three seperaate ways.

BI, BA,
VI, VA,
