Job: Registered Nurse
What you will do in the job:
Some things you do are asistings the patients, planning and carrying out nursing care in partnership with other health professionals. They Give patients immunisations, medicine and IV’s. Give further education to nurses in training and other staff.
Education and experience:
Enrolled Nurse
Complete a diploma of enrolled nursing (level 5).
Pass an assessment by an approved provider.
Pass an examination for enrolled nurses.
Registered nurse
Complete a bachelor degree of Nursing, or other level 7 or 8 qualification approved by the nursing council of New Zealand.
Pass assessment by an approved provider.
Pass a nursing Nursing council of New Zealand examination for registered nurse.
Secondary education:
NCEA Level 3 is required to enter tertiary training. Useful subjects include maths, English, biology, chemistry and physics.
Skills and qualities:
The effects of different medicines and treatment. Different cultural beliefs about health and medical treatment. Know the human body and it’s diseases and illnesses. The effect of different medicines and illnesses.
Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Annual Salary:
Graduate registered nurses earn around $54k a year.
Senior registered nurses earn around $79k - $130k a year
Gross monthly income: $4500

Reflection time:
The thing that got me hooked was you also need
a bachelors degree for this job aswell and lots
of nursing experience. I though you would only
need a level 7/8 qualication approved by the
nursing council of New Zealand. Lastly, their
first step is education. Learning the different
kinds of aspects, skills and etc.
