WALT:

Analyze how inserts shots shows meaning.

Success Criteria:

 I can explain why and how Inserts shots are used to show meaning.

What and how are we learning?

We are learning how to demonstrate inserts shots. Through watching various of videos we then create a DLO about it.

Why are we learning it?

We are learning this because, it correlates with the topic we are studying and developing our film analysis.

How did it go?

During this project I learnt various of techniques and I have developed my film studying abilities.

Cultural stuff - DLO (What is it?)

 Culture:
A widespread of custom beliefs throughout a society that escorts people. The description of a particular group of people who live life in a specific way. Culture can be past down by generations, continuously changing. Arts, dancing, singing, food, values, language are all examples of cultural factors.

Society:
Every society has culture, but they are not the same thing. 
Society includes people who share mutual beliefs, values and overall the way of living. Society in this case is about a group of people who live or are connected in a geographic area who interact with each other more than they interact with the outsiders. An example of this is NZ. 





Subculture:
A group that has similar but different beliefs and behaviors from a larger society. Some examples of subcultures are hippies, goths, emo, and etc. 

Counterculture:
It is when the subculture interferes with the bigger culture’s rules. An example of this would be the hippies in the 1960’s. The punks in the 1970’s.

Text Purpose: To inform students that failure can be learned and improved.

Summary:

In this image, our teacher explained that using the learning pit is helpful to use. We used a different image but I couldn't find the specific one so I used this one. This image, it explains that failures can be driven towards a successful future even though it was hard. First, you fall into a deep pit. Not falling into disparity, thinking about how to overcome the certain problem. Then find opportunities to overcome the problem. Finally, succeeding it.

Due to the text's important messages such as not giving up. It is beneficial for everyone. Learning from mistakes is essential for life.

What do the images suggest?

In my opinion, this image suggests the never giving up is needed to be succesful.

I am learning how to explain and demonstrate what is Self-Esteem. Examples of it. 

Why am I learning?

I'm learning this because it helps me portray my own opinion of what is Self-Esteem.

The River- Reflection time (Learning)

Today In ESOL we are reflecting on what we like in learning during these past few weeks.

We are reflecting on how we learn about the book The River.

What I like:

- The thing that I like about it is whenever someone with a funny accent reads. 

- The cliffhangers of the book at the end of each chapter.

What I don't like about it.

- Whenever I read too much

- Whenever we have to do work

How you feel about the parallel learning of essay structure?

- I think it helps us a lot by going over the basics again. Reminding us that simple is better.

What would you like to do with this knowledge?

- For me, I would make a questionnaire, game, or Kahoot for my friends to do.
