Paragraph.
In The Hunger Games, By Garry Ross, Costumes were used effectively to show the theme of rich v poor. For instance in the Capitol the costumes are very posh, they are neat tidy, colourful even theur dogs are coloured. The material is futuristic and this makes us understand that the Capitol is more advanced than District 12. The purpose of this is to create a contrast between the costumes. In District 12 the costumes are old fashioned, the materials used are natural and well worn. This is important because it shows the difference between the Capitol and District 12 in terms of oppurtunites, lifestyles, and privileges.
