Self diredted learning goals. "Looking back"

Looking back to my goals, I think I have been improving in the past few weeks.
Referesh: My goals
1. Know what I need to complete and set goals based on this.
2.  Knowing what skills I need to develop so I can learn.
3.  Telling others the ways how I like to learn and what suits me best.

First goal, I've improved by completing all the week's task and setting goals along the way.
Second goal, I've improved by examining my mistakes.
Third goal, I have been getting courage.

How atheletics went for me.

What did you like?
There were a few errors in  the event. Teacher not telling us where to go and most of us were confused but in the end it went well. Most of the food stalls were selling good and yummy products.
What could have been better?
Reminding the homeroom teachers to tell what are the events for the students.
Results over the term:
I got an average score for most of my selected tracks.

A goal for this week...6

For each week we need to post a goal. For the rest of the week we are trying to complete that goal.
This week my goal is to stay focus without letting my friends bug me or annoy me. Finishing my work before the due date.

Practicing... a Lawyer's Paragraph

1st - Attempt
Iqbal lost his H.R. when he was solf off to bonded labour. Many Children lost their freedom and right to education and other stuff. His family needed money and he was sold and many masters are cruel by working them to sunrise to sunset. The current of the master made them lack food, making them malnourished. Iqbal’s right to have freedom was taken away.

2nd - Attempt
Iqbal lost his Human Rights when he was sold off to bonded labour.
He had many ambitions of becoming a lawyer but it was stopped.
Due to bonded labour he couldn’t do what many young childrens do in their
childhood. He was sold off to a master to pay off the debt of his father.
Iqbal’s childhood memories were mostly of working from sunrise to sunset.

Often the masters of Iqbal were cruel and greedy. The Human rights of Iqbal Masih
was taken instantly after he was sold off to bonded labour.

Another topic

Hussain Khan’s indentured labour of children. Many of Hussain Khan’s labourers
are children. The reason for this is, kids are easy to maintain. First, they would
eat less than adults, making  Hussain Khan’s cost for buying food products would
be less. Second, kids are easy to overpower making them scared to defy the
owner’s command. Lastly, their small delicate hands will work perfectly for the
carpet making. Hussain Khan has many other ways to make his economy become
much better with a horrifying side effect.

Restart.. Mathletics!

This week for maths we get to do mathletics that will eventually help people from other countries to get better education. Every 250,000 points in mathletics is 1 dollar that the Mathletics donate to the people in Africa. We had to complete a series of task including things that were not familiar. We eventually got this barricaded problems with the help of our teacher. We each earned a thousand points for the contribution.

The end of Critical Literacy =(

Group work- Critical text analysis
Texts(s): Sia (Big Girls Cry)
Topic:Critical literacy -
How did your group focus the analysis? (Which aspect did you select to critically examine?)
  • Inclusion
  • Exclusion
  • Representation
  • Multiple readings
Which critical literacy questions did your group select to analyse the text(s)?
Who is missing in the text?
  • People in their old age.
How are adults constructed in this text?
  • Needing help
  • Aggressive
  • Irresponsible
  • Not showing empathy
  • Needs bonding
In whose interest is the text?
  • It is meant for couples on how to solve or avoid their future problems.
Why is the text written this way?
  • Many kids will feel depressed when their parents start tearing apart.
Why did your group select those questions?
It is related to the picture of young adults today. To show the text’s main intentions.
What did your group conclude from the critical analysis? (So what?)
I think this video showed me the importance of responsibility in life.

I am currently learning how to identify the text/video in details by using the Critical Literacy   Questions (CLQ).
I used four of the CLQ to show my better understandings of the music video called   (Big Girls Cry) by   Sia.
I wondered many views of point on how to answer each questions and relate it   to the situations in life.
