Matariki poster
This poster took about 3 periods to do, our class first did some research on Matariki as our teacher leading it. We all picked our chosen holidady to change for Matariki, so I chose the Day after New Year's day since it's basically has no other meaning behind it. After some research I made this poster as the result!

Tomorrow, When the war Began - Chapter 16 to Epilogue question and answers - (Novel study)
This past two weeks I manage to read the end of the book so I decided to answer and blog it all at the same time. This is the results:
Ch 17:
- Why does Ellie feel uncomfortable with Chris bringing cigarettes and alcohol into Hell? P.221 It made her reflect on what she has been thinking over the past few nights.
- What happened to the soldiers involved in the lawnmower incident, according to Robyn? How does this make Ellie feel? P.224 According to Robyn, two of them died and 1 was severely injured.
- What is meant by a “clean war”? Why are the invaders so intent on having a ‘clean war’? P224-225 Clean war - Having no casualties such us killing the people/raping and other stuff. The invaders intent was not to let the neighbouring countries (especially America) join in because of that.
- Why do you think prisoners are sent to clean up the houses around town? They are going populate the country with their own people.
Ch 19:
- What makes Ellie think the soldiers walking past them are professionals? P.244-245 They acted as they were professionals. For instance, they ducked down before they shot and made sure it wasn’t very dangerous before shooting.
- What are some clues that the group is starting to think ‘more like soldiers’? Most of them are prodigy thinking ways to get out of a bad situation and calming each other down when critical situation is happening. The quick thinking made them more of a soldier like characters.
Ch 20:
- Why is Ellie nervous about being paired with Fi? P.255-256 Were her concerns about Fi realised? Explain. She was nervous because she likes Homer too. And No, Fi responded as Ellie were very hooked to Lee.
- What is true courage according to Ellie? Doing something very dangerous for your love ones.P. 256
- What problems do Fi and Ellie encounter on their mission to bring the tanker to the appropriate place under the bridge? How do they deal with these problems.
The fence cut was not big enough - They cut more.
The tank was ringing - they manage to turn it off
Some enemy troops came and inspect - they climbed a tree to be not noticed.
Ch.21:
- How do Ellie and Fi feel as they are leaving the scene on their motorbikes? Reliefed/happy by escaping a near death situation. Are these realistic feelings? Yes, because many people wouldn’t do the same thing. Their act of courage change their life.P.273
- Why do you think the group decided to blow up the bridge? The bridge connects the bay and the other cities by blowing it up there are no other land transport.
- How is this exploit different from the other exploits the group has been on e.g visiting the showgrounds and rescuing Lee? THis is different since they had a well-thought plan that can cause something in the long term. Another reason why this is different is because this is something big, it includes more courage knowing you have to kill someone.
Ch.22
- How does Kevins decision to go with Corrie change our perspective of him from Chapter 3/7 P280-281 He is now a good friend with a sacrificial heart and a loving, brave friend.
Epilogue:
- What is Ellie’s concern about her story? She hopes that they will survive and she not becoming like Hermit.P.283-284
- What do you think will happen to Corrie and Kevin? In Homer’s theory, the enemy is doing a clean invasion meaning that Corrie and Kevin would mostly be safe.

SDL Reflection time term 2 (week 11)
Last week I was trying to achieve the goal:
Can tell others the ways about how I like to learn.
I've improved this by telling my friends to not
bother me while I was reading.
This week Im trying to achieve the goal:
Ask feedback when i'm not sure.
Three ways to ahieve this:
- Having a friend to read my work.
- When getting confused ask the teacher.
- Knowing what words I'm not sure with.

Syrian Refugee Assesment.
1. What went well and why?
- Many things wen't well, cause having your text raedy for your presentation is quite handy. You can just copy and paste it onto your presentation since you've already created the sentences needed.
2. What didn’t go so well and why?
- I had forgotten some informations and examples that I needed to put. One's sentence is unclear if the information is not true.
3 If you were to do this again what would you do differently and why?
- I would add reasons and add examples for the topic. More descriptive/emotive language.

Corrosion
Corrosion 1:
Aim: To investigate the factors that cause rusting in an iron nail.
Equipment: Four test tubes, test tube rack, a bung, four iron nails, boiled water, tap water, salty water, cooking oil, calcium chloride.
Method:
1. Label each test tubes from A - D.
2. Test tube contents:
A = Iron nail and tap water
B = Iron nail and salty water.
C = Iron nail, boiled water, oil,
D = Iron nail and calcium. Sealed with a bung.
3. Leave the test tube undisturbed for at least three days.
Observations: Most of the Iron nails that was set up corroded along with the specific elements that was inside with the iron nail. Exceptional, The boiled water with oil on top didn't rust since it wasn't expose at oxygen. and the iron nail within the calcium chloride gets rid of any oxygen/moist.
Conclusion:
Rusting needs oxygen/water to happen. It also speeds up with salt water. By coating it, it is preventing the iron nail from rusting.

Corrosion 2:
Aim: To investigate a number of techniques that might prevent rusting.
Equipment: Four test tube, test tube rack, a bung, four iron nails, tap water, vaseling gel, nail polish, zinc pellets or magnesium ribbon.
Method:
1. Label each of the test tubes from A - D.
2. Fill all test tubes with equl amount of water - enough to cover the nails.
3. Test tube contents:
A = Iron nail
B = Iron nail covered inVaseline.
C = Iron nail painted with nail polish.
D = Iron nail with a small piece of magnesium ribbon wrapped around it.
Observations: Most of the iron nails was prevented because it didn't have any contacts of any environmental elements. Except for the plain nail that was soaked in water.
Conclusion:
An iron nail will corrode if it comes into contact with the environment. Corrosion also occurs quickers if salt or water are present. Corrosion of iron can be prevented by creating a barrier between the iron and the environtment. This can be achieved by coating the iron in plastic, grease, or paint. Iron can also be coated is more reactive metals such as Zinc. Iron or steel snail coated withh zinc are called galvanise nails.

Ellie's point of view
I woke up and saw a gun pointed at me. Shocked, I stood up but soldiers started to shoot the ceiling. The others woke up upon the shots. startled with distress they immediately stood up. In the corner of my eye, I saw Chris still sleeping after the gun shots. I though to myself, "he must've slept while on sentry duty, I knew that he was not to be trusted" A soldier started to walk towards Chris, after a kick in the gut he woked up. Everyone was scared, but for me I was fierce towards Chris since this wouldn't ahppened if he didn't went to sleep. Shouts from outside started to come in as a man came in. He was wearing a black army coat, he was probably the operator of this search. The man in the black army coat started to talk to a person who was wearing civilian clothes. She looked like one of my neighbours. As the dim light began to disappear, I was sure it she was one of us. She walked towards my face and told me that she was their interogetor. She could understand their language. After a long conversation between the lady and the enemy's general. She explained what he said to her. The enemy wanted us to become their own soldiers in exchange for safety and the release of our family. They were impressed with our actions by the past few weeks that they wanted to make us thier own soldiers. We had to choice. Die or live.
